Rochester, NY OBAMAVILLE

Tue Feb 05, 2008 at 06:25:45 AM PDT

I was so excited to see so many Obama signs on the way to work this morning.. I wish I brought my camera.. The "welcome to Rochester" sign everyone sees heading in from the east  now says simply "OBAMA 08'".. The overpasses have signs hanging saying Obama.. Fences along the highway have signs saying obama.. Obama lawn signs on streetcorners.  Not a HRC sign to be seen anywhere.. I think it's going to be an interesting contest in NY..

My local conservative radio station Raising money

Fri Sep 09, 2005 at 06:45:30 AM PDT

I was driving to work, and the local station that carries Air America was raising money for the victoms of Katrina... Having been overloaded on Katrina, I turned to the conservative station just to get some balance(you know the one that carries Rush).. The anouncer, after asking people to donate, went on a tyrade on how much he hates the victoms of the Hurricane.. First he said, it took him a year to hate the victoms of 9/11, the whiners (he said).. He couldn't believe the victoms in the Astrodome couldn't calmly wait in line for the $2000 debit cards. He said, yes it is not a majority, but none the less, he was surprised he could hate the victoms so soon after the disaster.

Kind of hear warming isn't it ?? Asking for donations for these people that he hates..

Fly flags at half mast, and have vigils to show support

Fri Sep 02, 2005 at 08:58:59 AM PDT

All,
My wife just called in tears after hearing the moving, comments from the mayor of what was New Orleans.  Her idea is to fly flags at half mast, and have vigils for the suffering.  These obviously won't solve the problem, or help those that are dying as I write this,  But it is an opportunity to show solidarity to those that are suffering, and probably collect a few dollars/food/ etc. to help.  I have ton of clothes to donate.

After 9/11 we did these things, and now nothing.  It is time for Moveon, or some group to organize these things.

Flags at half mast dammit !!
   Food, clothing, money collections .
   Candles, and prayer services.

This is worse than 9/11 and some group needs to organize this.  I hate to say this, but if Moveon, or a "liberal" group does this, it may bring their credibility up a notch with the public too.

Bush Coming to Rochester, NY May 24th Protest

Sun May 22, 2005 at 10:13:46 AM PDT

Welcome to Rochester, President Bush-
Keep Your Hands Off Our Social Security!!!

1:30
Tuesday
May 24
Liberty Pole
Downtown Rochester
for a map of parking near the Liberty Pole go to
http://www.midtownrochester.com/parkdt.htm

The protest is called by the In This Together Campaign
http://www.inthistogethercampaign.org/
and Metro Justice is a member of this statewide coalition.

Why the Liberty Pole?

We are also hearing from organizations that have been involved in protesting
these Bush visits that the best way to get the word out about our opposition
to Bush's privatization plan is to locate our demonstration somewhere else at
a different time. This gives the media time to extricate itself from the
locked down area and makes for a more powerful image.
